The all-time favorite for bringing gorgeous color to shady spots! Mound-shaped perennials with fernlike foliage produce dozens of soft feathery flowers on 20-40" tall spikes in late spring to early summer. The plumelike flowers and the foliage are both superb for accenting fresh bouquets and dried arrangements. Astilbes thrive when planted by waterside, but they grow well anywhere and are not fussy about soil. Space 18-24" apart.
