Mesa Verde Ice Plant

The Hardy Ice Plant Mersa Verde, 'Delosperma ‘Mersa Verde’, is a wonderful ground cover that has single, dark salmon blooms. The foliage, which makes this plant a real winner, is deep green, almost succulent looking and extremely shinny. Delosperma has a plant spread of 12” and a height of 2”. It does prefer dry and sandy soil and does not like wet soil in the winter. Hot conditions keep the flowers blooming most of the summer and it requires little to no care. Delosperma looks great as a ground cover in a rock garden or in front of a perennial border. PPAF

Delosperma has a plant spread of 18” and a height of 2-3”. Hot conditions keep the flowers blooming most of the summer and it requires little to no care. Delosperma looks great as a ground cover in a rock garden or in front of a perennial border.

The Delphinium ‘Butterfly Blue’, Delphinium grandiflora, has a wonderful true sky blue flower that reaches a height of 10” and a plant spread of 15-18”. This deep, gentian-blue trumpet shaped flower is a great contrast with is forest-green slender foliage, blooming early to mid summer. ‘ A must for any cottage garden, remove spent heads to produce more growth throughout the season. Try ‘Butterfly Blue’ with Hibiscus ‘Blue River II’ or Leucanthemum ‘Becky Daisy’.

The Bleeding Heart Aurora, 'Dicentra ‘Aurora’, is a fast-growing perennial with creamy white, heart-shaped flowers. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage. Dicentra ‘Aurora’ has a plant height of 14” and a width of 20”. It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil. Do not let it dry out. Dicentra will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. ‘Aurora’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers. Being an old fashioned plant, it is a must in any landscape.
